Nice to meet you

Hi, I’m Kristen.

I’m a mama of 2 wonderful kiddos and married to my best friend, Steve. We live in Leander, TX, but I am originally from Charleston, SC. I miss home a lot, but I’m starting to get fairly settled out here in the “Hill Country.”

I created this blog primarily to share a little piece of my life with all of the other wonderful bloggers out there. Also, it serves double duty as a way for my Mom to keep up to date with our lives (she’s in SC). I’m sure you’ve seen (or will see) her comments.

Speaking of comments…I LOVE to receive comments and respond to each and every one. It makes my day to know that someone is reading what I have to say. If you have any questions, you can reach me at kristenDOTrDOTbauerATgmailDOTcom. I love to receive emails as well!

My crafts of choice are: knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, baking, cross-stitch, and I’m starting to dabble just a little bit in embroidery. I’ve dyed my own yarn twice and loved the results. Right now I am crafting 99% from my stash. Every once in a while a project requires me to purchase something, but I can guarantee that there will be something included in the finished outcome that came from my stash. I try really hard to shop from second-hand stores (mainly Goodwill or Salvation Army) and don’t see anything wrong with purchasing/using something that is gently used; I feel like it gives the object character. My current apsiration is to find some thrifted quilts.

Anyway, I guess that’s about it for now. So, grab a cuppa, sit back, relax, and (hopfully) enjoy reading my blog. I can guarantee that I enjoyed writing it. 🙂

  1. Hi Kristen,

It’s so nice to meet you. I used to live in Columbia SC and we used to spend many a weekend at the Isle of Palms – and hop over the bridge into Charleston – now we’re in frigid ND and adjusting pretty well – we already have snow. I’m going to bookmark your blog so I can find my way back easily.

    Affectioknit-ly,

    Teresa
